Cleaning and Maintaining Bulletproof Glass*

How to Maintain Ballistic Glass

Ballistic glass is virtually impenetrable, but that doesn’t mean it’s indestructible. Proper maintenance of ballistic glass is just as critical to its effectiveness and longevity as proper installation.

In this video, James and John explain how to properly maintain ballistic glass. Learn the best practices for cleaning and protecting Armitek bulletproof glass* to ensure it stays in pristine condition for years to come.

The most important step in maintaining ballistic glass is to keep it clean.

Be very careful to never use products with ammonia on your protective glass, as this can cause the surface to craze. Warm water with a mild soap is a great alternative.

Other products to avoid include:

  • Benzene
  • Window cleaners
  • Alcohol-based cleaners
  • Carbon tetrachloride
  • Petroleum based solvents like acetone or MEK.

Additional tips:

  • Use lint-free cloths, such as microfiber
  • Keep any sponges wet and blot the glass with a clean dry cloth rather than a squeegee.
