Cleaning and Maintaining Window Security Film

How to Maintain Window Security Film

Window security film is designed to prevent intrusions, but improper cleaning can damage the film’s integrity, leading to premature failure.

In this video, James and John explain how to properly maintain window security film. Learn the best practices for cleaning and protecting Armitek window security film to ensure it stays in pristine condition for years to come.

The most important step in maintaining window security film is to keep it clean. If the film is new, wait at least 30 days before cleaning so the adhesive can cure.

Never use products with ammonia or other harsh chemicals to clean window security film. Instead, use dish soap, ammonia-free window cleaner, or glass cleaner diluted in warm water.

To avoid scratching the film, use a lint-free cloth, such as microfiber, and wipe in the direction of the grain. Keep any sponges wet and blot the film with a clean, dry, non-abrasive cloth rather than a squeegee.
